Ideal for car camping trips as well as beginners looking for plenty of sunshine exposure during their time outside, the Sundome would make an excellent first choice or addition for experienced sun seekers looking for their next outdoor adventure.

This REI Co-op tent stands out as one of the most comfortable options at its price point. As a roomy 3-season backpacking tent that scored highly across our performance metrics and offered intuitive setup and storage solutions. Furthermore, it weighs almost one pound less than its predecessor (note that 5-lbs includes footprint; remove it to bring weight down to 4).

The Half Dome packs down into an easily manageable size for storage, though its heavier construction makes it less suitable for backpacking (more expensive ultralight models tend to use thinner and less durable materials). Even so, its still light enough for car camping with two people or children.
