Using a Dredge Boom

One of the best resources available to sport anglers on smaller boats today is a Dredge Boom. Using reflective Mylar strips, soft-plastic swimbaits or rigged natural baits, dredges can help target billfish, mahi, kingfish and wahoo by replicating a school of baitfish while getting the lines out of the wake of the boat.

Dredge Booms were first employed in the early 90s and are commonly pulled on both sides of the boat, sometimes with two or three dredges in tandem, depending on sea conditions.
